The free-fall boat is made of glass fibre reinforced polyester (GRP) and has foam injected into certain areas between the inner lining and hull , to assure buoyancy and strength. Depending on the size of the free-fall boat, the maximum capacity is 16 to 40 persons. A fully loaded lifeboat is able to run at 6 knots for 24 hours with its propeller-driven inboard diesel engine. The free-fall boat has anti-skid on all walking surfaces, both in the inside as on the outside. A synthetic rubber fender is mounted on the port- and starboard side. All free-fall boats are delivered with a complete set of rescue equipment.
The free-fall boats of Euro Offshore all fully comply with the latest SOLAS requirements and LSA Code. Furthermore, the free-fall boat will be certified in accordance with the European Council Directive 96/98 EC on Marine Equipment (M.E.D).
